Ever since the first year of this project, gals have been asking to join us on our trip. We started offering that two years ago at Otter Tail County and it has turned into the highlight of our weekend. Last year, some of you joined us on Lake Superior and this year we have something a little different planned.

The VIP Experience

We want to be sure that the women who join us get the VIP treatment. We will kick things off with a special VIP meet and greet where you can spend Friday evening chatting with the WIAP team and special media guests. This is a great time to get some one-on-one conversation and pick the brains of our fishing and media experts. Thinking of a career in writing, media or marketing? Want to learn more about specific fishing destinations? Want to talk about getting your Captains license or learning to salmon fish? The team will be there and be excited to chat with you. Representatives from WI Women Fish and Women Anglers of MN will be there. Angie Scott from The Woman Angler and Adventurer will be there also.

We will also be serving hors d’oeuvres and you will receive a goodie bag. Each person will receive a St. Croix Rod paired with quality reel to use for the weekend. Interested in purchasing the rod and reel combo? Add on a new St. Croix Rod and Daiwa reel combo ready to fish and it’s yours to keep!

Saturday morning we will meet on the ice and escort you to our village. We have rented wheel houses from Set the Hook Guide Service. The equipment is top notch and you can see the houses on the link above. We will have numerous permanent ice houses set up on a blue gill and crappie spot. Each shack will be a learning station and a member of the WIAP team will be there to help you improve your skills. Hole drilling, jigging, using live bait, setting tip ups and tip downs, electronics, underwater cameras, learn about mapping, or just catch fish and laugh a lot.

For those that want come out fishing with us, but already have all your own gear, you are welcome to join us. Just meet at the designated spot and follow us out to the area we are fishing. Members from WAM and WI Women Fish will be on hand to be a resource for you.
